Baccarat Ballroom
Designed in Baroque style, and extravagantly decorated with mouldings, mirrors and chandeliers, the Baccarat Ballroom is a glamorous setting for conferences.
Among the interior’s highlights, dating back to the early twentieth century, are the Italian white marble fireplace and crystal floor lamps produced by the French manufactory of Baccarat.
The huge antique mirrors seem to reflect the glittering balls, masquerades, music receptions and grand assemblies that were held here in the 19th century.
In the 1920s illustrious members of the House of Arts (former Eliseev Palace) read their works here; poets such as Alexander Blok, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Osip Mandelstam and Nikolai Gumilev.
