Located in an 18th century warehouse, Old Customs House is one of the city’s finest restaurants. Every detail in the restaurant is thought over to create an ideal setting for a refined dinner. Quite a small number of seats (compared with the territory the restaurant occupies) guarantees the necessary seclusion. Vaulted ceilings and wooden partition with stained-glass windows reflecting the lights create the atmosphere of coziness and warmth.
Luce (Italyanskaya street, 15)
Located on the top floor of the Grand Palace gallery the restaurant is filled with air and sun. The huge panoramic windows and glass roof create a feeling of flight. A unique view of Art Square, Savior on the Blood Cathedral and picturesque roofs opens. Soft cozy interior pastel shades created exclusively of natural materials: leather, linen and wood. The menu is a collective image of the Mediterranean. There are well known dishes of various regions of the south coast but all of them are masterfully interpreted. A cozy solar atmosphere, fresh cuisine and a perfect meeting place in the downtown.
Tsar (Sadovaya street, 12)
Tsar, as its name suggests, sets out to make its guests feel like real Russian royalty. Drinks are served in fine crystal glasses, old portraits of noblemen cover the walls and even the toilets are encased inside giant leather-lined thrones. The Russian cuisine on offer is first rate – no doubt Nicholas II himself would have loved the Pozharskaya cutlet a la Pushkin. The staff, food and atmosphere here is a real lesson in imperial elegance. Menu includes dishes from the 18th and 19th centuries that were served at Imperial receptions. The historic interiors of the building remained untouched and were restored in detail. The menu is conducted by chef Roman Vasiliev. The wine list is perfectly set up by the professional chief sommelier, Denis Mikhailov.
