At 17,075,400 square kilometres (6,592,800 sq mi), Russia is, in area, by far the largest country in the world, covering more than an eighth of the Earth’s land area. It is 2.2 times larger than Australia and 0.7 million kilometers larger than South America. Russia has the world’s largest reserves of mineral and energy resources.

Russian is a Slavic language in the Indo-European family. It is one of the other two national languages in the East Slavic group, which are Ukrainian and Belarusian. Russian is classified as a level III language in terms of learning difficulty.
Statistically, there are 160 ethnic groups in Russia, speaking 100 different languages.

Population: Russia has the population of 143,000,000 people with 5,028,313 living in St. Petersburg. The ethnic composition of the country includes 80.90% Russians, 3.87% Tatars, 1.41% Ukrainians, 0.86% Armenians, 0.44% Azerbaijani, 0.38% Belarusians, and many other smaller ethnic groups.

Weather: The weather conditions across Russia vary with both distances and seasons.
