Shrovetide at the Taleon Imperial Hotel

Shrovetide (Maslenitsa in Russian) is the ancient Slavic festival dedicated to the arrival of the longed-for sunny spring. Russian Shrovetide has traditionally been celebrated with folk festivals and magnificent feasts, which feature the famous blinis (pancakes), symbolizing the sun.

This year, the feast of Shrovetide will be from February 24th to March 2nd, and celebrated at the Taleon restaurant. Our executive chef Alexander Dregolsky is a blini expert!.
