New Year’s Night at the Taleon Club

The evening’s programme began with the Viennese Waltz festive ball.

The music – classic waltzes by Johann Strauss, Piotr Tchaikovsky and Georgy Sviridov – was provided by a chamber ensemble under the leadership of Andrei Arkanov, Honoured Performer of Russia. All the guests could choose a dance to their liking and join the twirling couples.

The main surprise of the festive night – a performance by one of the stars of Russian popular music, People’s Artist of Russia, the marvellous Larisa Dolina.

The programme continued with the legendary Georgian group Iveria who have long since achieved exceptional popularity. Iveria’s “creative portfolio” contains five musicals, including the absolutely unique Jays’ Wedding, the celebrated Argonauts and Hit, hit, created for the group’s jubilee. The characters sing of brave men, who always become the heroes of legends, and of fairy-tale victories of love.

What New Year’s night is complete without dancing and good cheer? The festive programme continued with the club’s own ensemble, the Taleon Band, under the leadership of Alexander Denisov.

At the top of the building, in the Victoria Russian haute-cuisine restaurant a special programme invited guests: performances by the Sorokin Band trio and the exciting folk group Russian Kolobashen; romances interpreted by the international prize-winning Peter’s Quartet and, of course, surprises from the head chef for real gourmets.

The celebrations in the hospitable halls of the Taleon Club were going on till morning.
